"My name is Elvis Kennes, 24 year old and born in Belgium.

I’m looking for an internship or job in the world of furniture design, especially in the front-end of the design process.

Last year I’ve followed a postgraduate in Furniture Design in Mechelen. This program is limited to 20 people and draws candidates from interior design, architecture and product development. The key elements in this post graduate are understanding materials in a hands- on-fashion and creative freewheeling.

The five years before that, I acquired a masters degree in Product Development in Antwerp. The main focus of this program is to create professionals who have a moderate knowledge of all possible aspects of the developing of a product. This means basic engineering (structural, thermal and electrical), material science, ergonomics, sustainability, marketing, market research, economics, management and design methods.

This means that a graduate from this program can be part of any department or manage the entire process.

What I’m looking for is an internship or job in the world of furniture design, especially in the front-end of the design process. I can give technical, economical and ergonomical input very early in the process, thus ensuring the designs potential in an early stage. I also like correcting products in the very last stages of development because I notice faults and imperfections and can formulate alternatives very quickly.

I do this because I would like to get the chance to gain experience abroad and live in Norway for a while. I am interested in opportunities going from one month to one year.

You can contact me on my email elvis.kennes@gmail.com Thanks a lot
